In plate processors: assures plates are properly desensitized and stored for short & long term. When water hits the plate it reactivates desensitizing agents, assures quick clean start-ups.
On plate by hand: use to store a plate before printing or when the time comes save the plate for later use.
On metering rollers: to keep desensitized, water attractive and free of ink.
As fountain solution additive: to eliminate scumming, open tiny reserves, eliminate slight scratching on plates caused by dirty paper stock and help control water speeds.
